      Soil scientists are sounding the alarm in search for efficient methods and technologies capable of restoring soil strength. Ask a question

      The main issue in developing the environmental standardization system for soils and lands is that up to now there has been no consensus concerning the connection between the permissible ecological status, in particular of soils and lands, and the tolerable level of human effect on them. There are only certain scientific approaches to regulating the environmental quality of soils and lands.

      Environmental standardization for soils of different economic purposes, as distinct from the same, allowing for their natural (typical) inhering, is complicated with at least two factors:

      1. Each type of lands economic use, one way or another, changes soils natural properties;
      2. Each type of use has its own rules legally established for handling land resources, which has a reflection in economic, social, environmental and medical standards of permissible degradation and pollution of soils, often with technocratic accent.

      Thus, in establishing standards for soils of different lands categories, environmentalists are faced with a complex diversified task, which in a dynamic practice of natural resources management is often solved with no proper scientific rationale. As a result, the existing uncertainty does not allow to accurately calculate the deviation in condition of soils from the one accepted as environmental standard for a particular type of soils and lands use, and respectively, to correctly assess the feasibility of their economic use and make an univocal decision on the need for re-cultivation.

      Problem of Soil Yield Reduction

      Farmers, both in our country and globally, are seeking to increase crop yields to feed an increasing population. But in recent years, it’s getting much more difficult to increase yields due to an intensified using chemicals, and destruction of topsoil. This point is less important for industrial zones, but it does not reduce the problem severity, what’s more – it’s growing stronger in these zones due to contamination with heavy metals and hydrocarbon.

      Soil erosion and degradation occurs mainly due to reduction of organic matter content in soil, i.e. decomposing plants, microorganisms and other important parts of an ecosystem that are able to restore it by themselves. According to supervising bodies, the organic matters content in many countries has decreased by 40-60% on different types of soils. This is a serious global challenge as an organic matter content affects:

      • soil moisture content;
      • soil water permeability, i.e. an ability to absorb and filter water;
      • number of nutrients in soil used by aboriginal microorganisms able to recultivate it to environmental standard is decreasing.

      Soil scientists are sounding the alarm in search for efficient methods and technologies capable of restoring soil strength. In recent years the research and production company "ECOTEAM" has developed several unique technologies for organic agriculture, owing to which the so-called ‘soil health’ is to be improved.

      Modern Technology for Soil Recultivation

      The proposed technologies will help farmers, agro-pastoralists and large agricultural holdings to increase yields and environmental friendliness of products, preserve and get the degraded and arid areas into agricultural operation, thus saving money for their development.

      There are new huge opportunities opening up for us in using land, which yesterday was unsuitable for agriculture. The improvement of soil health is beneficial for both agricultural producers and the environment. When increasing the soil organic carbon content by only 1 percent, the soil water retention capacity can be increased from 240 to 1,100 liters per hectare. This means that many farms, farmers and pastoralists will be able to withstand drought and maintain their businesses.

      The proposed recultivants can significantly improve soil health. Before starting the topsoil remediation activities, it is necessary to know how rich in organic matter the soil is. This is when AViTA® recultivant comes into operation.

      To determine soil quality, you need to take a soil sample, make an agrochemical laboratory analysis, and get a conclusion on a soil condition. Lab experts extract DNA from soil samples to determine, which microorganisms are present there in. This analysis is crucial to the choice of technology for soil health recovery, and this data will also allow our technicians to identify and provide our clients with important information on susceptibility to soil diseases.

      ECO TiM LLC experts can tell a customer what useful microorganisms are present in a soil, as well as warn about pathogenic bacteria or toxic contaminants potentially available that affect environmental aspects, reduce soil yield and quality of their products.

      How AViTA® Recultivants Work

      Our soil restoration and recultivation technology includes the organic-fermented products of poultry manure or manure, and a unique natural complex of humic and fulvic acids, which is an extremely powerful combination for a recovery of any ecosystem.

      AViTA® recultivants have high fermentation activity and improved agrochemical and agro-physical performance. This in a short time reduces the impact of toxic compounds – heavy metal salts, radio-nuclides, pesticides and other toxic compounds – in unsuitable areas, including arid, depleted and polluted soils.

      The main task for our company been successfully solved was to create an environmentally-friendly advanced recultivants of a durable effect, which are a balanced system of organic components, compounds of macro and microelements, microorganisms, active enzymes, vitamins and physiologically active substances to form a fertile soil layer with high agro-physical and agrochemical parameters.

      The whole set of these natural components in a certain proportion opens up new opportunities for land rapid recultivation, and bringing its parameters to the required environmental standard.
