Cattle manure is a source of raw materials for the production of high quality organic fertilizers that increase soil fertility, but only if it is fully processed or fermented in a certain way. For this purpose, we use enzymatic products containing humic and fulvic acids, produced by our company.
Cattle breeding is a demanding but profitable business. But large-scale cattle breeding facilities always face the problem of disposing waste – cattle manure. It is accumulated near the farms, which can result in:
- deterioration of environmental situation around the facility;
- spread of infectious diseases;
- soil pollution with infiltration of pollutants into the water reservoirs located nearby.
Manure Processing
Cattle manure is a source of raw materials for the production of high quality organic fertilizers that increase soil fertility, but only if it is fully processed or fermented in a certain way. The unprocessed manure being disposed to fields may not only fail to increase the yield, but also harm the crop.
Exemplary chemical composition of a manure, as on the first day after the removal from a farm:
Water | 77.3 % |
Organic matter | 20.3 % |
Nitrogen (N) total | 0.65 % |
Nitrogen (N) of ammonia | 0.54 % |
Phosphorus р (Р205) | 0.48 % |
Potassium (К20) | 0.73 % |
Our task is to make manure safe for agricultural crops, to preserve and increase macro elements in it. Our Accelerated Recycling Technology completely solves the problem of waste disposal and provides additional profit from both the direct use of manure and its sale. Recycled cattle waste can be sold to other businesses in the industry as organic fertilizer for crop cultivation, recultivation of degraded soils.
Processing Method
Accelerated technology for processing cattle manure into high quality organic fertilizers is based on aerobic-anaerobic method of manure bioconversion. For this purpose, we use enzymatic products containing humic and fulvic acids, produced by our company. When they are added to cattle manure, heat and mass exchange processes are intensified due to aeration. Oxidative and biochemical processes are deeply accelerated; biomaterial particles are diminished in size; composting time reduces 3-4 times.
This technology allows managing the process of cattle manure composting and obtaining high-quality organic fertilizers based thereon in conjunction with the sanitary and hygienic requirements.
The Steps of Cattle Manure Processing
- Liquid manure collected from the cattle yards and slurry tanks is treated with the enzyme product AViTA® by spraying.
- Liquid manure treated with enzyme product AViTA® is starting to be exposed to bioconversion process, i.e. a change in chemical and physical properties. It is all about the composition of the product, in particular, the content of special humic and fulvic acid ions. The result is a ratio of more than 70 different minerals, dozens of vitamins and amino acids perfect for the bioconversion. These biologically active substances quickly inhibit pathogenic microflora, provide worming process and coagulation, also due to the ability for penetration through cell membranes.
- The next stage of manure processing is its dehydration to 35-55% moisture content using a powerful separator. Separated fractions, liquid and solid, go to the different circuits of extra treatment:
- Liquid: to cleaning and filtering. Further – for recycling in the form of technical water for hydraulic washout.
- Solid: to be put in storage pits for bio-thermal aerobic fermentation for 14-25 days (depending on the ambient temperature). On the 3rd or the 4th day due to heat from biological oxidation of manure substances the temperature in a pit rises to the thermophilic level (60о С). Fermentation of the mixture goes on for 5-8 days. The destruction of weed seeds, deworming, microbiological destruction of antiseptics, mixture deodorization by reducing the amount of volatile organic substances take place during this time.
- After the mixture is fermented in the thermophilic mode, there occurs a gradual decrease of its temperature from 60 to 20о С. At the same time an additional 12-15% decrease in humidity happens due to active evaporation.
- The chilled mass has the following parameters:
- humidity 15-25%;
- no plant seeds;
- no helmints (tapeworms);
- no salmonellae;
- musty ground odor;
- humus substances content increases up to 19% (in terms of carbon), humic-fulvic acids ratio reaches 2.9 (for black soil, the ratio is 2.2).
- If necessary, the chilled mass is pelletized and packaged in polyethylene bags or big bags. After that the fertilizer is ready for use.
- Other products from manure, such as liquid fertilizer, solid fuel (pellets), soil (bio-humus), etc. can be obtained upon request.
The Main Benefits of the Proposed Technology
- Minimum area needed for storage and preparation of manure as a raw material for fertilizer production.
- Minimization of manure decontamination time in the livestock facility.
- Elimination of bad smell within 12 hours after the product is applied.
- Reclassification from Hazard Class III (dangerous) to Hazard Class IV (low hazard) within 14-25 days, resulting in reduced environmental charges.
- Minimum CO2 and ammonia emissions into the atmosphere.
- Possibility of deeper manure processing to increase market value of organic fertilizer produced.
